MGA PASSPORT DAPAT HAWAK NG EMBASSY

Passport ng mga OFWs, ibigay sa pangangalaga ng PH Emb' Friday 16th February 2018 Iminumungkahi ngayon ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na hawakan na lamang ng Philippine Embassy ang mga passport ng domestic workers. Ito ay sa gitna ng repatriation ng mga problemadong overseas Filipino workers mula sa mga bansa sa Middle East partikular sa Kuwait. Ayon kay Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, ilan sa mga problema ng mga OFWs ay dahil kulang ang kanilang mga sahod, delayed o di kaya naman ay hindi talaga pinapasahod ng kanilang mga amo. Pero hindi umano agad natutulungan ang mga ito dahil hawak ng mga employers ang kanilang passports at ginagawang panakot para hindi magsumbong ang mga OFWs sa embahada ng Pilipinas. Kaya naman, mungkahi ng DFA na ang embahada na lamang ng Pilipinas ang humawak ng mga passport ng Pinoy workers. Isa pa umanong suwestyon ng DFA ay sa ATM na lamang ilagay ang mga sweldo ng OFW para may record sakaling kulang man o wala talagang pinap...

Gov't issues exemptions to ban on Kuwait-bound workers

Metro Manila -  Workers on vacation in the country, rehired workers, and passing seafarers are exempted from the deployment ban to Kuwait, the government said on Wednesday.   The Department of Labor and Employment, through Administrative Order No. 54-A, issued exemptions to President Rodrigo Duterte's directive to stop sending workers to Kuwait.  The deployment ban exempts:  1. Workers vacationing in the country and will be returning to the same employer to finish their contracts 2. Workers who are returning to Kuwait on a new contract with the same employer 3. Seafarers who will be boarding in Kuwait These workers have to get clearance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration before they can go back to Kuwait.  Meanwhile, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is keeping a close watch on airports and seaports to enforce the ban.  Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente on Tuesday said he has directed the bureau's port operations division ch...
